Celal Kadooğlu stated that the decline in exports in the first quarter of the year with the effect of the earthquake was short-lived and that the exporters of the region recovered in a short time and rose to the leadership again.

“Our sector, which ranked first in the region by realising one third of the total exports of the Southeast, reached a monthly export average of 300 million dollars. With the effect of the earthquake in the first quarter, our share in Türkiye in general had fallen slightly below 30 per cent, but at the end of 8 months, we once again proved our leadership in the cereals, pulses, oil seeds and products sector as the region with the highest exports in the sector,” he said.

Türkiye has become a pasta production centre…

Pointing out that Türkiye is one of the first options that come to mind for countries that want to import pasta, he added: “We are a country that can process quality wheat in high-tech facilities and export it at very competitive prices compared to Italy, our strongest competitor in this field.”

“Enterprises operating in the Southeast make 65 per cent of the country’s total pasta exports. In addition to African countries such as Somalia, Niger, Benin, there is a great demand from different geographies such as Venezuela, USA and Iraq. Our companies generate an average of 50 million dollars a month from pasta exports,” he concluded…
