Hayrettin Uçak: Our aim is to reach 7.5 billion dollars in fresh fruit, vegetables and products exports this year

Press release…

Hayrettin Uçak, Chairman of the Turkish Fruit and Vegetable Products Exporters’ Associations Sector Board, stated that in order for the fresh fruit and vegetable and fruit and vegetable products sectors to fully realize their export potential, quotas and customs duties should be eased or eliminated through bilateral negotiations with the relevant countries.

Recalling that the fresh fruit and vegetable and fruit and vegetable products sectors reached a total export of 6.3 billion dollars in 2025, Uçak underlined that a strong growth performance was achieved in the total exports of the fresh fruit and vegetable and fruit and vegetable products sectors in the first five months of 2026.

Noting that the sector’s total exports soared by 18 percent from 2.384 billion to 2.815 billion dollars in the January-May period of 2026, Uçak said that they expect the export increase to continue in the second half of the year, also due to the positive impact of weather conditions on production.

“Considering our production capacity, product diversity and effectiveness in our export markets, we believe we can complete 2026 with an export volume of 7.5 billion dollars. If the quotas on our trade are removed and customs duties are reduced, the 10 billion dollars export target will be an achievable goal in the medium term,” he added…
