Press release…
Whilst Türkiye exported 511 million dollars worth of processed fruit and vegetable products in the first quarter of 2026, the Aegean Region accounted for 221 million dollars of these exports, taking the lion’s share.

The Aegean Region maintained its leadership by accounting for 43 per cent of Türkiye’s total fruit and vegetable product exports. The Aegean Region alone accounted for 95 per cent of the country’s dried tomato exports, 94 per cent of gherkin pickle exports and 90 per cent of pepper pickle exports.
Hayrettin Uçak, Chair of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, announced that Türkiye produces 58 million tonnes of fresh fruit and vegetables annually. “Alongside the growing awareness of production for industry in our country, fruit and vegetables are being processed into products and contributing to the economy in a value-added manner,” he said.

Emphasising that Türkiye is the world’s food storehouse, he explained, “Despite experiencing production declines in many products due to the climate crisis in 2025, we exported fruit and vegetable products to all corners of the world, achieving exports of 2.6 billion dollars in 2025. If we do not face any adverse weather conditions in the coming period, we could reach 3 billion dollars in fruit and vegetable product exports by the end of 2026.”
Carbonated drinks, fruit juices and tomato paste in the top three…

Highlighting that vegetable preserves led the country’s fruit and vegetable product exports with 58 million dollars, followed by carbonated drinks at 50 million dollars, he added, “Our fruit juice exports rose from 42 million dollars to 48 million dollars, an increase of 14 per cent. Our tomato paste exports rose from 36 million dollars to 44 million dollars, representing a 22 per cent increase. Pickled peppers brought in 40 million dollars, mixed fruit and vegetable juices 34 million dollars, gherkins 32.5 million dollars, dried tomatoes 29.5 million dollars and apple juices 21.5 million dollars in foreign exchange for Türkiye.”
