Minister Yumaklı announces the “Strong Livestock, Strong Production Project”

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı announced the launch of the “Strong Livestock (Fattening), Strong Production Project,” saying, “With this project, we will ensure that an average of 8 billion lira remains in our country every year, thus providing profits for our producers.”

Yumaklı emphasized that the 5-year Livestock Roadmap, announced in February last year, is being implemented step by step. “Thanks to the 3-year support model we first announced, we have made significant progress in breeding material. Our goal was to supply female breeding material from our dease-free enterprises. This was particularly important for our commitment to quality production. The use of female semen in dairy breeds has increased by approximately 25 percent during this period. This is an extremely promising result for our country.”

Yumaklı also stated that the data obtained has achieved the desired goals in dairy farming and that quality milk production has also soared within this framework.

Highlighting that they aim to separate dairy farming from beef farming and obtain milk from dairy breeds and meat from beef breeds, he said, “I would like to state here that there is no problem in milk production and in fact, our milk supply is plentiful.”
