A Second Gabay Era at Dried Fruit Exporters’ Association…
The election at the Aegean Dried Fruit and Products Exporters’ Association, which accounts for 55 percent of Türkiye’s dried fruit exports, was truly breathtaking. Yusuf Gabay’s yellow list received 74 votes, while Fatma Behit’s list received 70 votes. Both candidates delivered messages of unity after the election.
Yusuf Gabay will be the second member of the Gabay family to hold the presidency of the Aegean Dried Fruit and Products Exporters’ Association, following Menaşe Gabay, who served as president from 2008-2010.
The general assembly marathon at the Aegean Exporters’ Associations continued with the Aegean Dried Fruit and Products Exporters’ Association. While 8 associations held their general assemblies with a single list this year, the Aegean Dried Fruit and Products Exporters’ Association saw a double-list general assembly.
In the elections, which were held with two lists for the first time in many years, the current President Mehmet Ali Işık did not run for re-election, while Yusuf Gabay, the current Vice President and Fatma Behit, a member of the Supervisory Board, competed. Yusuf Gabay won the election with 74 votes, while Fatma Behit’s list received 70 votes.
