INC Congress, the largest organization of the World Dried and Shell Fruit industry, was held in London…
The International Nut and Dried Fruit Council (INC), the highest consultation platform for dried fruits and nuts around the world, was held for the 40th time this year in London on 22-24 May.
Among the countries participating in the congress, Türkiye was the country with the highest participation with 81 representatives after the USA, while a strong participation and representation was achieved by the Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association Board of Directors.
INC Board of Trustees Member Osman Öz, INC Ambassador Ahmet Bilge Göksan and delegation representatives attended the INC Board of Trustees Meeting, Ambassadors Meeting, Statistics Committee and Sustainability Committee meetings, along with the panels organized and also held various meetings with representatives of other institutions and organizations while making evaluations regarding the issues on the agenda.
Mehmet Ali Işık, Chairman of the Board of the Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association, said, “For three days this year, 1,300 dried and shelled fruit industry leaders from 65 different countries came together in London at the INC Congress. Sessions on yield forecasts, supply, demand and trade of shell and dried fruit products were held for three days.”
“Emrah Yaşar, the representative of Vesta Tarım, a member of the Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association, took part in the round table session, where detailed information about the products was given, to make explanations about seedless raisins,” Işık added.
“While Guillaume Pagy, the representative of Pagysa company, a member of the Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association, chaired the Dates, Dried Apricots and Dried Figs session, Ogan Ceryan, the representative of our Association Member Anatolia AS company and Miray Usta, the representative of Usta Food Company, also took part in the same session and made detailed explanations about our products,” Işık concluded.
It has been announced that the 2024 INC Congress will be held in Vancouver, Canada, on May 8-10, 2024.
Lastly, Goretti Guasch, INC Executive Director, pointed out that the INC Congress is the most important event in the world for the nuts and dried fruit industry and it has been a very productive three days for the network as we discuss how we will follow a path to increase consumption globally.
