Mehmet Ali Işık, Head of the Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association, stated that they grow the world’s highest quality seedless raisins in the Manisa-İzmir-Denizli triangle in Türkiye.
“Although there is a 20 percent decrease in our exports in terms of quantity, the 11 percent increase in our foreign currency income shows the success of Turkish exporters, their dynamic work and the correct marketing of Turkish grapes. In the 2024/25 season, we are targeting more than 500 million dollars in seedless raisin exports,” he said.
78 percent of seedless raisin exports were made to European countries…
Underlining that European countries maintained their leadership in seedless raisin exports with a demand of 384 million dollars for Turkish grapes, Işık continued his words as follows; ‘The share of the EU in seedless raisin exports exceeded 78 percent. Our exports of $ 342 million to EU countries in the 2022/23 season soared by 12.2 percent. After European countries, our most exports in seedless raisins were to Far East and Southeast Asian countries. Raisin exports to Far East and Southeast Asian countries soared by 27 percent from $ 49 million to $ 63 million. Our seedless raisin exports to the American continent, which was 21 million dollars, were recorded as 2.4 million dollars to African countries.”
While Türkiye exported raisins to 89 countries in the 2023/24 season, the UK maintained its leadership with a demand of 123 million dollars. While the Netherlands demanded 64 million dollars of Turkish grapes, Germany took 50 million dollars of seedless raisins and wrote its name in the third place of the summit.
Apart from European countries, Australia with a demand of 26.5 million dollars, Japan with a purchase of 25 million dollars and Canada with seedless raisin imports of 18 million dollars were the prominent markets…
