“DON’T HARVEST OLIVES NOW!”

Türkiye’s Mediterranean coast province Mersin’s district Mut Chamber of Agriculture President Hıdır Kar, asking the producers to try not to collect olives these days, said, “Let’s not collect our olives until the 15th of October. Not all of our traders have arrived. The majority did not come, it did not rain. Please try not to collect olives!”

District Agriculture and Forestry Director Ekrem Bayır also said, “There are 700 thousand decares of agricultural land in our district and 300 thousand decares of this are our olive production areas. We have 12.5 million olive tree assets registered in the farmer registration system (ÇKS). Together with our unregistered olive trees, we have 15 million olive trees in our district. Olive cultivation in our district of Mut dates back hundreds of years. Our Mut olives and olive oil are sold domestically and abroad with the advantage of both climatic advantage and quality natural production.”

Our Mut olive oil stands out in the world markets with its peroxide value below zero, 8 and 9, its shelf life being longer with the advantage of peroxide and the amount of natural organic and polyphony it contains, thanks to the health components it contains,” he added…
