11-month exports of Aegean fishermen exceeded 1 billion dollars…
Fishery products became the first food product in the Aegean Region to surpass the 1 billion dollars threshold!
Aegean fishermen’s 11-month exports exceeded 1 billion dollars.
Bedri Girit, Chair of the Aegean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association, stated that they ramped up the exports from 984 million dollars in the 11-month period of 2022 to 1 billion 40 million dollars with an increase of 6 percent in the same period of 2023.
While the aquaculture sector was the only product group among the food products within the Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB) that exceeded the 1 billion dollar threshold, it received a 21 percent share from the 5 billion 180 million dollar food products exports of EIB in the 11-month period of 2023.
