Veysel Memiş, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mediterranean Cereals, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Exporters’ Association (AHBİB), announced that they exported 211.2 million dollars in August with a hike of 21 percent compared to the same period last year. Emphasising that AHBİB recorded a hike of more than 39 times in the sales of the cereal product group in August, Veysel Memiş stated that they ramped up their export volume in 82 of the 135 countries they export to.

Veysel Memiş also said that Türkiye has increased its global power with important moves in the trade of food products and food technologies and that they have given a very successful test at the 31st International Food Products and Technologies Fair (World Food Istanbul).
Pointing out that World Food Istanbul, which was held at Tüyap Convention and Exhibition Centre between 6-9 September, provided the opportunity to exhibit and discover the latest innovations and food trends in the sector, Memiş said, “I would like to remind that the giant organisation was held with the full support of the Turkish Food Platform, which was formed by the TİM Cereals, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Sector Board and all Exporters’ Associations, the Federation of Food and Beverage Industry Associations of Türkiye (TGDF) and the Association of Out-of-Home Consumption Suppliers (ETÜDER).”
Indicating that 1,117 companies from 38 countries participated in World Food Istanbul and more than 800 foreign buyers from 73 countries established new trade connections with Turkish companies in B2B events, Memiş added, “As AHBİB, we had the opportunity to announce new projects that will shape the future of the food sector in the event that brought together professionals from all over the world.”
