ASSETS OF TURKISH AGRICULTURAL COMPANIES SOAR MORE THAN 5 TIMES…

The asset size of companies operating in the fields of agriculture, forestry and fisheries in Turkey increased by 5.4 times in the 2011-2020 period and reached 67.2 billion liras.

Gross sales of companies increased by 513 percent to 51.7 billion liras in the period of 2011-2020. In the same period, the equities of companies rose from 5.2 billion liras to 21.9 billion liras.

According to the information compiled from the results of the “Sector Balance Sheets 2020” research conducted with the cooperation of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) and the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, the asset sizes of companies operating in the field of agriculture, forestry and fisheries have expanded regularly in the last 10 years.

While the total asset size of the companies in question was 12.4 billion liras in 2011, this figure reached to 15.5 billion liras in 2012, 26.8 billion liras in 2015, 45.6 billion liras in 2018 and 67.2 billion liras in 2020. Thus, the total assets of the companies increased by 5.4 times in the period of 2011-2020.

The growth of the companies in this sector during the Covid-19 epidemic, which affected the whole world, was remarkable. The asset sizes of the companies in the sector increased by 25.4 percent in 2020 compared to the previous year.

EQUITY INCREASED 321 PERCENT…

It has been observed that companies have also grown their own resources. The total equity of the companies operating in the fields of agriculture, forestry and fisheries was recorded as 5.2 billion liras in 2011. These companies increased their equity regularly in the following years, raising it to 21.9 billion liras in 2020. Thus, the equity sizes of the companies in question have risen by 321 percent in the last 10 years.

GROSS SALES SURGED 513 PERCENT…

Gross sales of companies escalated by 513 percent from 8 billion 440 million 788 thousand liras to 51 billion 731 million 181 thousand liras in the 2011-2020 period.

Sector companies managed to expand both their domestic and international sales during this period. In the 2011-2020 period, the gross domestic sales of the companies reached from 7.2 billion liras to 44.5 billion liras and their gross foreign sales from 986 million liras to 6.2 billion liras.
