USAGE OF PLASTIC BAGS DECREASES SHARPLY ALONG WITH BEING CHARGEABLE…

Ajans Press, the leading agency for media monitoring, reviewed the research on bags usage.

According to the information and data compiled by Ajans Press from the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization media coverage, usage rate of these plastic bags fell by 80 per cent as it becomes chargeable.

Only 294 million bags were used in chain stores in January last year, while in the same month of this year this percentage decreased 82 million falling by 75 per cent. Estimates show that use of bags until the the year of 2023 will be reduced up to 90 percent. Furthermore yearly amount of 30 billion is expected to fall back to only 3 billion along with 40 per person annually.

In the media research conducted by ITS Media and Ajans Press, the number of news reflected in the written press on the subject was also determined. Since 2018, 250 thousand 99 news outlets have been identified under the title of plastic bags, while the decrease in the use of bags with the new law has been on the agenda of the media.
