The fresh fruit and vegetable and fruit and vegetable products sectors, which deliver Türkiye’s flavours to all four corners of the world, hiked their exports by 4 percent in 2024 to 6 billion 131 million dollars. The 6 billion dollar threshold in the fruit and vegetable and fruit and vegetable products sector was exceeded for the first time in 2024.

In 2024, the fresh fruit and vegetable sector exported 3 billion 401 million dollars, while the fruit and vegetable products sector contributed 2 billion 728 million dollars to record exports.
Stating that Türkiye’s exports of fruit and vegetable products reached 2 billion 728 million dollars in 2024, Türkmen Türkmenoğlu, Chairman of the Turkish Fruit and Vegetable Products Sector Board, said that 1 billion exports, which corresponds to 37 percent of fruit and vegetable products exports, were carried out by the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association.
Informing that the average export price of fruit and vegetable products exports in Türkiye is 1.27 dollars, Türkmenoğlu said, “In 2024, our Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association product export unit price was 1.59 dollars. When this figure is compared to 2023, our average price surged by 1 percent. While the most exported product group in the country was fruit juices with 574 million dollars, in the Aegean Region it was pickles with 319 million dollars.”

Underlining that the fruit and vegetable products sector differs from other branches of agriculture with some important advantages, Türkmenoğlu explained, “Our production processes do not require imported raw materials to a large extent, export-oriented growth targets and the high employment opportunities it provides are our sector-specific strengths. At the same time, the added value added to finished products plays a key role in increasing export revenues.”
“Our sector also draws attention with its gastronomy-based contributions to our country’s food exports. The international recognition of food prepared with Turkish products increases the demand for all Turkish food products and expands the export volume. Especially in HoReCa (hotel, restaurant, café) channels and retail chains, the demand for Turkish products is growing day by day,” he added…
