Türkiye exported more than 361 million dollars worth of tomatoes to 52 countries in 10 months of the year.
While Mediterranean coast province of Antalya plays an important role in tomato production, export revenues decreased by 14.41 percent compared to last year.
In 10 months of the year, Türkiye exported more than 361 million dollars, of which approximately 155 million was realised by the member companies of the Western Mediterranean Exporters’ Association (BAİB).
Tomato exports, which were 421 million 866 thousand 268 dollars in the same period last year, decreased by 14.41 percent this year.
In Antalya, which stands out in agriculture as well as tourism, tomato production is carried out in 169 thousand 225 decares of land in summer and winter.
The member companies of BAIB, which covers Antalya, Isparta and Burdur provinces, which is the leader in greenhouse agriculture, exported 154 million 712 thousand 24 dollars worth of tomatoes in 10 months of the year. This figure accounted for 42.77 percent of Türkiye’s tomato exports.
