Turkish fruit juice sector aims to export 1 billion dollars in 2028…
The fruit juice sector exceeded its export target of 500 million dollars for 2024 by 74 million dollars. The fruit juice sector was the leader among the sub-sectors in Türkiye’s exports of fruit and vegetable products in 2024.
The country’s fruit juice exports reached 574 million dollars from 452 million dollars with an increase of 27 percent in 2024.
While the fruit and vegetable products sector exported 2 billion 728 million dollars in 2024, the fruit juice sector, the export champion in the fruit and vegetable products sector, carried out 21 percent of the export of fruit and vegetable products alone. The fruit juice sector had signed 18 percent of the exports of fruit and vegetable products in 2023.
Stating that the fruit juice sector is taking firm steps towards the export target of 1 billion dollars set for 2028, Hayrettin Uçak, Chairperson of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, said that Türkiye succeeded in exporting fruit juice to 154 countries and customs-bound regions in 2024.
Informing that the fruit production in Türkiye is 30 million tonnes, Uçak said, “10 percent of the annual fruit production is processed by the fruit juice industry and transformed into added value and that the country’s fruit juice exports surged by 14 percent in terms of quantity from 227 thousand tonnes to 259 thousand tonnes.”
