A New Strategic Platform Opening Up to Global Markets: The Foreign Trade Council…
The Aegean Young Businessmen’s Association (EGİAD) held the first meeting of its Foreign Trade Council in Izmir, established with the aim of enhancing the business world’s global competitive strength, strengthening strategies for opening up to new markets, and institutionalising knowledge sharing within the export ecosystem.

Organised under the leadership of EGİAD’s International Relations and Foreign Trade Commission, the meeting comprehensively addressed export-oriented financing opportunities, state support, changing dynamics in global trade, and sustainable growth strategies for Turkish companies in international markets.
The meeting was attended by Gülom Kudal, Regional Manager of Turkish Eximbank for the Aegean Region; Jak Eskinazi, Coordinating Chairman of the Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB); Eximbank and EIB executives; as well as EGİAD Foreign Trade Ambassadors and Council members.
Jak Eskinazi and the meeting’s “Guest of Honour”, shared his strategic assessments regarding the evolving dynamics of global trade with participants, drawing on over 40 years of export experience and leadership expertise…

Jak Eskinazi defined exports as a country’s commitment to development.
“For a developing economy such as Türkiye, what is just as important as production is the ability to make that production valuable in global markets. Export generates foreign exchange, creates jobs, disciplines companies, improves quality, boosts productivity and makes the country part of global competition,” he said.
“A company that does not export does not merely miss out on its own growth opportunities. It also fails to contribute to the country’s balance of trade, production capacity, technological development and foreign exchange earnings. I have always believed this: Türkiye must grow through production and exports, not consumption. This is the path to healthy growth,” he added…
