Anchovy exports from Türkiye reached $10,888,755 in the January-July period…

Hasan Kuzuoğlu, Chairman of the Fisheries Sector Committee of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association (DKİB), stated that Türkiye exported 3,286 tonnes of anchovies in the first seven months of the year.
“This export generated 10,888,755 dollars in revenue and that exports were made to 20 countries during this period,” Kuzuoğlu said.
Recalling that 1,876 tonnes of anchovies, worth 8,563,683 dollars, were exported from the country in the same period last year, Kuzuoğlu noted, “Anchovy exports from Türkiye in the first seven months of the year increased by 75 percent in quantity and 27 percent in value compared to the same period last year.”
Highlighting that Belgium led Türkiye’s anchovy exports during the January-July period, he added, “During this period, 2,858,060 dollars worth of anchovies were exported from the country to Belgium. Belgium was followed by France with 2,788,198 dollars and Ukraine with 1,648,783 dollars. Unlike the same period last year, exports were also made to Australia, Portugal, and Qatar.”
Kuzuoğlu also emphasized that interest in Turkish anchovies continues, particularly in the European market and that they expect exports to surge in the remainder of the year…
