Tea, Turkish national beverage, which has an important place in the economy of the Eastern Black Sea Region and is one of the sectors that provides net foreign currency inflow in the country’s exports, continues its rising trend in exports every month.

In addition to European countries, Turkish tea, which is exported to markets with important consumer groups such as the USA, Russian Federation, Canada, People’s Republic of China and Japan, shows that tea exports will reach higher figures in the coming period, as the diversity of countries increases with each passing month.

Şaban Turgut, Vice Chairman of the Board of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association (DKİB) and also Chairman of the Tea Sector Specialization Committee, made evaluations on the subject; He stated that the exports of black and green tea, which are among the important export products of the country and the region, have boosted each year and succeeded in being exported to 115 countries. Referring to the fact that most of the tea exports are made to European Union Countries, Turgut underlined that with the increase in awareness of Turkish tea in recent years and the great appreciation of foreign consumers, its exports have developed in parallel with this and it has been exported to all over the world.

Pointing out that ÇAYKUR’s promotion of Turkish tea by participating in international fairs in its promotional activities has made a significant contribution to our export, Turgut said, “The tourists who come to our country like the Turkish tea they consume make a very important contribution to our exports. The exports of tea will reach much higher figures and we will support all the works to be done as the Association in this regard.”
