Aegean exporters, who exported fresh, dried, frozen and canned fruits and brought 2.4 billion dollars of foreign currency to Türkiye in the last 1-year period, boosted their target with the arrival of Interfresh Eurasia Fair in Izmir. Fruit exporters have increased their export targets for 2028 to 3.5 billion dollars.
Speaking at the Interfresh Eurasia Fair Promotion Meeting, which will be held for the 5th time this year on 26-28 September 2024 at Fuarİzmir, Türkiye’s largest fairground, Hayrettin Uçak, Chair of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association (EYMSİB), highlighted that they attach great importance to the Interfresh Eurasia Fair, which is the only fair of their sector.
Underlining that Interfresh Eurasia Fair has become an important brand at the international level with its journey so far, Uçak said, ‘I believe that Interfresh Fair will serve Izmir, the city of fairs and our sector for many years and will add strength to our strength and I would like to express that I am very happy and proud. As the sectors represented in the fair, we export 7.8 billion dollars in the country in general and 2.4 in the Aegean Region. In 2028, Interfresh Eurasia Fair will make a great contribution to reach the export target of 10 billion dollars in Türkiye and 3.5 billion dollars in the Aegean Region.’
Four forms of fruit will take place at the fair…
Murat Özer, General Coordinator of Antexpo Fuarcılık, who stated that in 2024, 4 forms of fruit will be represented in Interfresh Eurasia Fair, which is the showcase of Turkish fruit and vegetable sectors, including fresh, dried, frozen and canned, said that they made this decision because the Aegean Region is very strong in all 4 sectors.
15 market chains have already registered as visitors to Interfresh Fair…
Murat Özer, General Coordinator of Antexpo Fuarcılık, also informed that the number of international visitor market chains, which was 9 in 2023, soared to 15 this year, although the fair is five months away.
“Not only market chains, but also large wholesalers and foreign traders will be in Izmir for Interfresh Eurasia Fair more intensively this year,” Özer added
Deniz Celep, Chairwoman of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association Fruit and Vegetable Finished Products Sub-Committee, emphasised that it is important for the finished product companies to participate in the fair.
Cengiz Balık, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, pointed out that the fairs not only contribute positively to exports but also to the economies of the provinces and stated that the fresh fruit and vegetable sector also supports the growth of the fairs and that the fairs offer the opportunity to show their businesses to the importing companies…
