TURKEY’S ICE CREAM EXPORT INCREASES DESPITE THE PANDEMIC…

Turkey’s ice cream exports expanded in 2020 despite the pandemic that has taken the hold of the whole world.

Ice cream exports increased by 7 percent compared to the previous year, reaching 35.7 million dollars.

Kahramanmaraş province of Turkey produces 17 percent of the ice cream across the country and firstly comes to the mind in terms of this dessert. Kahramanmaraş ice cream manufacturers continued to produce despite the pandemic and said they would work with all efforts in order to be able to increase the export.

The ice cream produced in modern facilities which 11 thousand 553 people are employed in Turkey also exported to many countries. According to Turkey Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) data, Turkey’s ice cream exports was 33.4 million dollars in 2019 and rose to 35.7 million dollars with an increase of about 7 percent.

17 PERCENT IS PRODUCED IN KAHRAMANMARAŞ…

Kahramanmaraş ice cream registered by Turkish Patent and Trademark Institute in 2018. At the same time, Maraş Ice Cream has a special place in the world with its taste and consistency. In 2020, about 17 percent of the 459 million 643 thousand 234 litres of ice cream, which amounts to 77 million 195 thousand 801 litres were produced in Kahramanmaraş province.

“WE ARE HOPEFUL FOR 2021”

Ice cream shops in Kahramanmaraş, which also sell their products to the foreign market, exported 1.2 million dollars of ice cream to 21 countries in 2020.

The leading ice cream manufacturers in the province underlined that they are hopeful for 2021.
