Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TIM) Cereals Pulses Oil Seeds and Products Sector Council Chairman Mahsum Altunkaya, in his written statement on the occasion of World Pasta Day October 25, said pasta consumption increased rapidly in Turkey as of worldwide.
Altunkaya stated that pasta was among the strategic products during the pandemic process. Altunkaya also congratulated all manufacturers and exporters who made great contributions to pasta production and exports and announced that Turkey took the second place in pasta exports globally.
Altunkaya underlined that Turkey’s pasta exports exceeded 600 million dollars and 35 thousand people directly employed by this industry.
Pointing out that pasta industry has come to an important point in Turkey and Gaziantep has reached to a main production centre as like many other industries, Altunkaya added, “While food products taken into account, pasta is the most exported trade good from Southeastern Anatolia region.”
