THE MINISTRY; DOMESTIC AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION TO BE BOOSTED

In the new period, agricultural policies will be renewed and domestic production will be accelerated.

The aim of the studies initiated by the Ministry of Agriculture will be “to increase production, to ensure Turkey’s own sufficiency in basic products such as wheat and sunflower”. In this context, it is on the agenda to support the farmer with guaranteed purchases and pave the way for more production.

With the income-guaranteed purchase system, the farmer will not think about whether he can sell all of his product or whether he can earn enough money. He will focus on more production. Necessary adjustments will be made continuously so that there is no problem in milk production. Milk prices will be updated according to the inputs and the producer will be prevented from giving up their animals for slaughter.

TURKIYE PRODUCES ENOUGH WHEAT…

Due to the Russia-Ukraine war, many speculations were brought to the agenda about the wheat supplied from this country. Turkiye’s wheat production is in a position to meet the needs of the domestic market. However, Turkiye is currently one of the world’s largest producers of flour, pasta and semolina.
