The fresh fruit, vegetable and processed fruit and vegetable sectors, which generate over 7 billion dollars in foreign exchange for the country annually by exporting Türkiye’s delicacies to all corners of the world, have received support from the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure to resolve their logistical challenges and reach the 10 billion dollar export target.
Hayrettin Uçak, Chairman of the Turkish Fruit and Vegetable Products Sector Council, paid a visit to Abdülkadir Uraloğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, at his office. During the visit, issues such as the security corridor for trade with Russia, transit permits, delays at border crossings, air freight costs and port charges were discussed.
Hayrettin Uçak stated that they had conveyed the issues on the sector’s agenda to Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdülkadir Uraloğlu one by one and that Minister Uraloğlu had immediately instructed the relevant departments to take action on all matters. “He also noted that they were confident the issues on the sector’s agenda would be resolved in the near future,” Uçak said.
Work is underway to address delays at border crossings…
“Our Minister informed us that the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure is undertaking work to reduce delays at border crossings,” Uçak added.
“We are in a race against time to ensure that agricultural products reach export markets as swiftly as possible. Moving swiftly through border crossings is of vital importance. He also stated that they are closely monitoring the transit documents we use for exports and that immediate action is being taken for countries that have reached their quotas. We would like to express our gratitude to our Minister both for his warm welcome and for taking a close interest in our issues,” he concluded.
Veysel Güldoğan, a member of the Supervisory Board of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, also attended the visit by Hayrettin Uçak, Chairman of the Turkish Fruit and Vegetable Products Sector Council, to Abdülkadir Uraloğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure…
