CORN HARVEST APPROACHES IN ADANA WHILE SOME FARMERS PREFER SUNFLOWER…

However according to Cahit İncefikir, Chairman of Seyhan Chamber of Agriculture, due to high input costs of farmers who have partly turned to sunflower, corn production decreased.

Meanwhile in spite of this situation ingredients (kernels) of corn flourishes efficiently, İncefikir noted that if extreme heat doesn’t exist, the crop will please all farmers.

“If there is not excessive rainfall and hot weather we expect 13000 kgs of crop per hectar. On the other hand, the issue is sale of fertilizers sold so far fell 30-40 percent. In the plain, if farmers cut down from fertilizer at a certain amount, it may cause a decrease in yield. We estimate that farmers who make proper fertilization will get high yields” he added.
