Şekip Avdagiç, Chair of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) announced that reducing food inflation is the beginning of defeating it…

“This necessitates a long-term perspective. Love for the homeland begins with agriculture. We must make agriculture Türkiye’s passion. To achieve this, we must ramp up the use of technology in agriculture and launch a new generation of technological agricultural entrepreneurship initiatives. Türkiye’s expansion of prosperity will be possible by using technology in agriculture, as well as in industry. Anatolia’s lasting prosperity will be possible through agricultural production and industrial agriculture. Because love for the homeland begins with agriculture. First, we must transform Anatolia into the most productive base of the Fertile Crescent. Then, we must expand our vision to include international markets,” he said.

Avdagiç also stated that the global food and beverage market will reach 6.7 trillion dollars by 2024.
Highlighting that the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) supports Turkish food companies in selling their innovative products globally by participating in the biennial Anuga fair in Cologne, as well as the SIAL Food and Beverage Fairs in France, China, Canada, India and Indonesia,” he noted, “The global food and beverage market is expected to grow by an average of 6.2 percent annually. We see these fairs as a significant opportunity for Turkish entrepreneurs to further strengthen their position in this growing market. The fact that 40 of Türkiye’s 81 provinces are participating in Anuga ensures that Türkiye, with all its flavours and gastronomic diversity, is represented globally.”
