“Türkiye sent the most apricots to the United States in the 2022-23 season. Our dried apricot exports to the USA surged by 26 per cent to 72 million dollars. France ranked second with 40 million dollars worth of dried apricot exports, up 13 per cent, while Germany demanded 33 million dollars worth of Turkish apricots, up 14 per cent. While the United Kingdom maintained its place at the top with 104 million dollars in seedless raisin exports, 55 million dollars of raisins were exported to Germany,” he said.

“The Netherlands ranked third with a 25 per cent rise in demand for 50 million dollars worth of raisins. While the USA came to the forefront with a demand of 38 million dollars of dried figs with a rise of 23 percent, we exported 28 million dollars of dried figs to France and 27 million dollars to Germany,” he added.

Pointing out that behind the success in the dried fruit sector lies the sustainability-oriented studies that have been going on for 35-40 years, he concluded, “We are also the world leader in organics, and our country, which makes a difficult product such as organic, has come a long way in pesticides. We have been working meticulously for many years to ramp up the production quality and food safety of seedless raisins, dried apricots and dried figs. In the 2022/23 season, we aim to bring 450 million dollars in raisins and 250 million dollars in dried figs to our country.”
