Stating that 1 million 411 thousand 504 dollars were earned from exports, Kalyoncu said, “The USA ranked first with 665 thousand 390 dollars. The USA was followed by Germany with 376 thousand 367 dollars and Saudi Arabia with 154 thousand 53 dollars. Honey was also sold to the United Arab Emirates, Libya, Qatar, Oman, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belgium and the United Kingdom during the said period.”
Kalyoncu also emphasised that honey is one of the important export products of the region and added, “Our expectations from honey exports are always high. We believe that our exports can be further increased with geographically marked and branded products. Therefore, we attach importance to the studies in this direction.”
Pointing out that it is also important to make Turkish honey a brand with its quality in the world markets, Kalyoncu noted, “We believe that honey exports will reach much better levels in the coming days.”
