Saffet Kalyoncu, Chairman of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association (DKİB), announced that in the Eastern Black Sea Region, which is under the jurisdiction of DKİB General Secretariat, exports from Trabzon, Rize, Artvin and Gümüşhane provinces amounted to 1 billion 375 million 192 thousand 844 dollars in 2023 and there was a 4 percent decrease in exports compared to the previous year.
“In 2023, 1 Billion 57 Million 798 Thousand dollars of exports from our Eastern Black Sea region were realised as respectively, 1 Billion 57 Million 798 Thousand dollars was realised from Trabzon, 203 Million 68 Thousand dollars from Rize, 66 Million 143 Thousand dollars from Artvin and 48 Million 182 Thousand dollars from Gümüşhane,” he said.
“Compared to the same period of the previous year in exports from the provinces of the region; while there was an 11 percent increase in exports from Artvin, exports from Trabzon decreased by 3 percent, exports from Rize decreased by 12 percent and exports from Gümüşhane decreased by 25 percent,” he noted.
Pointing out the in 2023, the sectors with the highest exports from Trabzon, Rize, Artvin and Gümüşhane provinces of the Eastern Black Sea region, he added:
- Hazelnut with 530 million 889 thousand 841 dollars,
- 216 million 194 thousand 822 dollars with Fresh Fruit and Vegetables,
- 213 Million 12 thousand 909 dollars with Aquaculture and Livestock Products,
- 143 million 830 thousand 92 dollars with Mining and Metals,
- With 42 Million 436 Thousand 370 dollars, it was listed as Chemical Substances and Products.
