AQUACULTURE PRECEDES HUNTING!

Aquaculture production soared by 1.8 percent in 2021 compared to the previous year and amounted to 799 thousand 851 tons, while aquaculture products accounted for 59 percent of the production. Fisheries hunting decreased by 9.9 percent last year.

Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK – TURKSTAT)) announced the fisheries data for 2021.

Aquaculture production rose by 1.8% in 2021…

Aquaculture production increased by 1.8% in 2021 compared to the previous year and amounted to 799 thousand 851 tons. Sea fish constituted 32.8% of the production, other sea products obtained through hunting 4.1%, inland fisheries obtained through hunting 4.1% and aquaculture products 59%.

Sea hunting decreased by 9.9% in 2021…

While the total production by hunting was 328 thousand 165 tons, aquaculture production was 471 thousand 686 tons. Seafood fishing decreased by 10.9% compared to the previous year, inland fisheries increased by 0.1%.
