PUMPKIN SEED CULTIVATION TO INCREASE IN AFYONKARAHİSAR PROVINCE…

The price of snack pumpkin seeds, whose production is increasing every year in Afyonkarahisar province, this season pleased the producer.

Afyonkarahisar Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry, İbrahim Acar said that some of the agricultural lands in the province is in the Aegean region and some in the Central Anatolia region, so the product range is high throughout the province.

Stating that there is also pumpkin seed for snack among the important products grown in the province, Acar noted, “Farmers have recently turned to pumpkin cultivation.”

Pointing out that according to the figures they rank 9th at present across Turkey, Acar added, “Last year, we had 538 tons of pumpkin seed production. Pumpkin seed production is done in 2 thousand 855 decares in Dinar district where we obtained the most crop. We believe that yield will increase in the future.”
