Rize Inland Aquaculture Producers’ Association and Kuzuoğlu Group Chairman Hasan Kuzuoğlu said that salmon fillets processed by women from Rize and Fındıklı district are sold to many corners of the world. As of today, we have exported about 28 million dollars.”
Kuzuoğlu met with journalists and made observations at the salmon farm in Fındıklı district.
Kuzuoğlu stated that fish imports amount to 150 million dollars annualy in Turkey, while exports reach to 1 billion dollars.
Pointing out that 50 members are engaged in aquaculture sector across Rize province, Kuzuoğlu said, “There has been a significant breakthrough in exports for the last three years in this region.”
“We have provided a significant economic input from salmon export despite the outbreak”
Noting that his company, which is a member of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Associations (DKİB), made sales to Russia, Georgia, Poland, France, the Netherlands, Belarus and Kazakhstan, Kuzuoğlu added, “We have also provided a significant economic input from salmon exports despite the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic.”
