Turkish Mineral Water Producers Association (MASUDER), founded on 16 April 1999. MASUDER, representing the mineral water sector in Türkiye, comprises 80 percent of the mineral water production in our country with a total of 21 members, 14 of which are producers.
Our association is a member of the the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) Beverage Assembly and the Federation of Food and Beverage Industry Associations of Türkiye (TGDF) in Türkiye and the European Federation of Natural Mineral Waters (Natural Mineral Waters Europe) abroad.
Mineral water is one of the healthiest water options that consumers can choose and contains high amounts of minerals. We have water resources with much richer mineral content than the waters in Europe and we aim to explain this advantage to consumers as MASUDER.
In 2023, a total volume of 1 billion 200 million litres was reached in the natural mineral water and fruit flavoured mineral water category. Of this volume, 65 percent is plain and 35 percent is fruit flavoured mineral water.
Annual mineral water consumption per capita in Türkiye is around 14 litres. Fruit flavoured mineral water is consumed the most in the country. It allows children to get acquainted with mineral water at an early age thanks to its fruit flavour. The production of mineral water in 200 ml glass bottles is not only healthy but also helps prevent obesity by providing portion control. We believe that the awareness and consumption of healthy and highly mineralised natural mineral water will increase further in the coming years.
While the leading mineral water brands in Europe contain 400 – 900 mg of minerals per litre, mineral water resources in Türkiye contain 1500 mg or more of minerals due to its rich geographical structure. This is one of the important advantages of Türkiye compared to Europe.
