MUSTAFA ŞAHİN: KAYSERİ PROVINCE CAN MEET THE APPLE NEED OF LIBYA AND RUSSIA

Kayseri Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Mustafa Şahin said that Kayseri province, which has a say in the production of apples, has the capacity to meet the apple need of Libya and Russia.

Mustafa Şahin, who visited Yahyalı district noted that 6.7 percent of Turkey’s apple need has been covered by Kayseri province. Şahin also visited the cold storage and apple packaging facility established with the Rural Development Support in Yahyalı district and received information from the business manager at the point of the current situation of the warehouse and packaging facility, the supply of the apple to the domestic market and the export activities.

Stating that the facility provides services to farmers with a capacity of 10 thousand tonnes, Mustafa Şahin added, “The support and grant programmes we put into practice as the Ministry of Agriculture contribute significantly to the establishment of such facilities. Currently, 4 thousand tonnes of apples will be exported from our Yahyalı district to Russia. 10 containers per week will make the product ready for export.”
