TURKEY EXPORTS 53 THOUSAND TONNES OF HAZELNUTS IN THE FIRST TWO MONTHS OF 2021…

According to the data compiled from Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association (DKİB), Turkey exported 52 thousand 930 tonnes of hazelnuts in January – February and obtained 393 million 32 thousand 671 dollars in return. During this period, companies based in Trabzon province of Black Sea region provided 186 million 815 thousand 822 dollars foreign currency input in exchange for 23 thousand 82 tonnes of hazelnuts.

48 PERCENT OF HAZELNUT EXPORT IS FROM TRABZON PROVINCE…

Trabzon realized approximately 48 percent of total hazelnut exports in terms of revenue. Hazelnut exports from Trabzon in the first two months of 2021 increased 23 percent compared to 151 million 397 thousand 923 dollars in the same period last year.

HAZELNUT EXPORT TO ITALY ROSE BY 163 PERCENT IN VALUE…

Hazelnuts were exported from Trabzon region to 40 countries in the first two months of the year. The countries with the highest number of hazelnut exports were listed as Italy, Poland and People’s Republic of China. 13 thousand 52 tonnes of hazelnuts were exported from Trabzon to Italy in the January-February period, earning 110 million 973 thousand 843 dollars. Accordingly, 2-month hazelnut exports increased by 116 percent in amount and 163 percent in value compared to January-February 2020, which earned 42 million 248 thousand 297 dollars for 6 thousand 35 tonnes.
