Mustafa Kürlek, the fourth-generation representative of the Ayvalık-based Kürlek family, has been included in the ‘40 Under 40 Young CEOs’ list by Ekonomist magazine for the third time, thanks to the innovations and investments he has made at the family-owned company Köklü Olive Farming.

This year, Mustafa Kürlek, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Köklü Olive Farming, ranked 28th on the list and was the only person from his sector and from the western province of Balıkesir’s Ayvalık district to make the list.
Köklü Olives (Zeytincilik), a longstanding brand in Türkiye, has a rich history of olive cultivation dating back to 1521 on the island of Midilli. Established in Ayvalık in 1937, the company is led by Mustafa Kürlek, the fourth-generation family member, who has been recognised as one of the countyr’s youngest and most powerful CEOs in the business world by Ekonomist magazine’s ’40 Under 40 CEOs’ survey.
With a turnover of 2.4 billion TL in 2024 and employing 175 people, Mustafa Kürlek emphasises the importance of strategic decision-making as a senior manager. He advises aspiring executives to broaden their expertise in areas like finance and sales through training programmes. Additionally, Köklü Zeytincilik is focusing on expanding production and logistics capacities with a 1 million dollars investment plan to enhance automation processes by 2026, aiming to strengthen their position as one of Türkiye’s top 5 exporters…
