While Türkiye’s overall exports grew by only 4 percent in the first half of 2025, exports of chocolate confectionery products jumped 61 percent from 461 million to 743.5 million dollars. The Turkish chocolate confectionery sector has brought joy to billions of people in 180 countries and generated foreign exchange for the country.

Turkish chocolate manufacturers ramped up their exports to Belgium, the country that comes to mind first when chocolate is mentioned worldwide, by 441 percent, from 3 million dollars to 16.5 million dollars. They also ramped up their exports to Germany, another global giant in chocolate, by a record 387 percent, from 7.8 million dollars to 38.2 million dollars.
“Our chocolate product exports are heading towards 2 billion dollars”
Muhammet Öztürk, Chair of the Aegean Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters’ Association, stated that Türkiye’s chocolate confectionery exports ended 2024 with a 10 percent increase, reaching 1 billion 258 million dollars.

“The chocolate confectionery products sector achieved a more successful export performance in 2025, with triple-digit export increases not only to Belgium and Germany but also to the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Poland, Jordan, Hungary, Romania, Belarus, Lithuania, Australia, Norway, the Czech Republic and Ukraine,” he said.
Pointing out that members of the Aegean Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters’ Association contributed 52 million dollars to the chocolate confectionery products sector’s exports in the first half of 2025, he added., “While the global price of cocoa, the main raw material in chocolate products, is rising rapidly, the increase in chocolate exports is truly a great success. We believe that our chocolate confectionery products sector will maintain its export growth rate in the second half of 2025 and generate 2 billion dollars in export revenue for Türkiye by the end of 2025.
