Turkish exporters successfully left China’s largest import fair behind. 15 Turkish companies worked overtime to boost Türkiye’s exports to China at China’s most prestigious fair, China International Import Expo 2023 (CIIE), held for the 6th time in Shanghai, China on 5-10 November 2023.

Mehmet Ali Işık, Chairperson of the Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association and also Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB) Organic Products and Sustainability Coordinator, said that this year, the fair broke a new record with the participation of 289 companies from the Global Fortune 500 list; there were 160 senior executives of 100 international large companies from 18 countries.

“During the fair, we held meetings with China’s leading associations and chambers in the business world. We signed a cooperation protocol with China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Foodstuffs, Native Produce and Animal By Products in China (CFNA) China Chamber of Agricultural Commerce and China Industrial and Commercial Bank (ICBC Türkiye) and the signing ceremony was held,” he said.

“We also participated in the China Import Food Summit 2023 event, one of the important summits where senior representatives of China and other countries are hosted. The exhibition was very productive this year with the high participation of major Chinese importers,” he added.

Turkish products were highly appreciated

At the Turkish stand, olive oil, olives, dried fruits, premium wines of our country and region, honey, organic healthy snacks etc. food products were introduced and tasted. Turkish products were highly appreciated.

The Chinese presentation of Turkish products was made with robots and they constantly travelled among the visitors in the fair area. The robots offered the treats on the robots to the visitors…
