“Our exporters are working with all their strength to eliminate the disadvantages that may arise on the side of producers due to the hike in citrus yields. Russia, Iraq and Germany took the first three places in the list of countries we exported the most in the said period. We exported 61.2 million dollars to Russia, 49.4 million dollars to Iraq and 26.5 million dollars to Germany. Our export increase to European Union countries such as Germany, Romania and Poland is an indication that our country has boosted the quality of fresh fruit and vegetable products,” he explained.

Pointing out that the countries where they achieved the strongest hikes in export volume in October were Iraq, Canada and India, he noted, “Our sector, which achieved a rise of 394 per cent in the Iraqi market, exported 2.5 million dollars to Canada with a rise of 328 per cent and 7 million dollars to India with a rise of 136 per cent. Greece, Palestine and Poland followed these countries. We attach importance to the export increases in India and Canada.”

“Especially in our exports to Canada, the sales of citrus products had a great impact. In this product group, we achieved an increase of 1,337 per cent in the Canadian market in October. As an association, we achieved an export increase of 178 per cent in the Indian market and 421 per cent in the Canadian market. We continue to lead our sector. We are also making great efforts to regain the Saudi Arabia market. It is promising that we reached an export value of 7.8 million dollars to Saudi Arabia in October with an increase of 66 per cent,” he added.

“The fact that the positive results of our efforts to ramp up market diversity are reflected in export reports further raises our motivation. When we look at the 2023 January-October period reports, our fresh fruit and vegetable exports in Türkiye exceeded 2.6 billion dollars. If this performance continues, we will surpass our record in 2021 and reach the highest export value in the last 10 years,” he concluded…
