While the pandemic period was the beginning of radical changes and transformations in many areas, the importance of healthy nutrition soared. The return to nature has also led to the diversification of agricultural activities. Aronia, also known as ‘super fruit’, whose homeland is North America, has become more recognisable in Türkiye since 2012, but its production and prevalence dates back to the last few years.
According to the Aronia Feasibility Report and Investor Guide prepared by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry; aronia has created a new area for both investors and entrepreneurs with its ability to cover the investment and operating costs incurred in 4 years and to profit the producer. Such a valuable fruit has also become the centre of attention of entrepreneurs in recent years.

Agronomist Aylin Kalafatoğlu, one of the women entrepreneurs who pioneered the cultivation of aronia in Türkiye, took her place in the food-themed Incubation Centre in TÜBİTAK Marmara Teknokent with Dr. Aronia. Kalafatoğlu said, “Our co-operation with TÜBİTAK Marmara Teknokent is an indication of our company’s determination to carry our R&D and production activities to higher levels.”
“You have new products with ongoing R&D activities. We will increase our product diversity with the products we will develop this year. Our primary goal is to transform aronia into a form that can be consumed by everyone,” she added…
