BioFach, the world’s largest organic food and natural products fair, which focuses on the spread of ecological producers and products, was held for the 31st time in Nuremberg, Germany, between 26-29 July 2022.
Turkey’s national participation organization in Biofach Organic Food Products Fair was held for the 25th time by Aegean Exporters’ Associations, which is the coordinating association in the organic sector in Turkiye.

Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB) Sustainability and Organic Products Chairperson Mehmet Ali Işık, also Chair of Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association, who shared the information that the fair could not be held in 2021 due to the Covid-19 Pandemic and that it was held in July for the first time in the fair’s history.
Işık said, “In today’s world where it is getting harder to reach healthy and safe food, both consumers and country policies are now much more sensitive in questioning the safety of food. This has important consequences for the organic food and beverage industry. The size of the global organic food and beverage market was valued at 188 billion dollars in 2021. The market is expected to reach 564 billion dollars by 2030.”
“Our association, which started organic agriculture with the export of raisins and dried figs, expanded its scale by increasing the number of products to 250. When we look at the number of organic producers in the world, Turkiye ranks 1st in Europe and 8th in the world. We export organic products to more than 40 countries. In the Turkish pavilion at the Biofach Organic Products Fair; Our companies mainly offered dried fruits, cereals and pulses, frozen food, nuts and fruit juice products to the world,” he added…
