Safranbolu Municipality announced that there has been a great increase in lavender production, which started 3 years ago on an area of 500 square metres. It is stated that the production area has grown 3 times in 3 years and this year the harvest will be done in an area of 1500 square metres and approximately 2 litres of oil and 150 litres of water will be obtained. It was stated that lavender oil and water will be used for skin care and removal of harmful insects and will be sold to the public.
It was reported that there was a spike in the production of lavender, which was planted by Safranbolu, (district of Kastamonu province) Municipality in an area of 500 square metres 3 years ago.
In the statement made by the municipality, it was stated that the production area of lavender, an indispensable plant of cosmetics, aromatherapy and pharmacology fields grown in Yazıköy Production and Application Unit, soared by 3 times in 3 years.
It was also emphasized in the statement that the lavender plant, which cultivated in an area of 500 square metres about 3 years ago, has tripled its production. This year, 1500 square metres will be harvested. It is planned to extract about 2 litres of oil and 150 litres of water.
