KAZIM TAYCI: TURKISH CEREAL SECTOR AIMS RECORD IN 2023!

Kazım Taycı, Chairman of the Board of Istanbul Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters’ Association (İHBİR), said, “We traveled to different countries of the world with our suitcase in one hand and samples of the products we produce in the other. We are one of the associations with the highest diversity of countries. We are actively exporting to 200 countries.”

Speaking at the press conference, Taycı said that the sector’s exports could reach 15 billion dollars in 2023 with freight prices, equipment support and financial support.

Taycı stated that they demanded competitive exchange rate, easier access to finance, freight prices and equipment support from the authority in order to reach the export target of 15 billion dollars with an increase of 30 percent in 2023. He stressed that they will be able to break records in exports in Türkiye’s 100th year by taking steps to solve legal problems.

Expressing that the exchange rate has been fixed for a long time and the hike in TL costs poses a serious problem, Taycı explained that the exchange rate should increase at the rate of inflation in order to save costs.

Expressing that there were serious problems especially in logistics and supply in the first half of last year, Taycı added that as of the second half, many countries in the nearby geography, whose exports have decreased due to freight prices, various production and supply difficulties, have turned their direction to Türkiye and this is an opportunity…
