Hazelnut exports continue at full speed in 2025!

In the first month of 2025; 25 thousand 728 tonnes of hazelnuts were exported from Türkiye and foreign currency inflow of 209 million 73 thousand dollars was obtained. When these export realisations were compared with the same period of the previous year, there was a 4 percent decrease in quantity and a 1 percent increase in value.

Sebahattin Arslantürk, Vice President of the Hazelnut and Hazelnut Products Sector Committee of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association (DKİB), who made evaluations on the subject, stated that exports were made to 84 different countries from our country in the first month of the year and that the top 5 countries to which the most exports were made were Italy, Germany, France, the Netherlands and Brazil, respectively.

Arslantürk stated that in the first four months of the hazelnut export season, which started in September, 160 thousand 681 tonnes of hazelnut exports were exported in return for 1 billion 302 million 938 thousand dollars of foreign currency inflow, and compared to the same month of the previous year, there was an increase of 13 percent in quantity and 29 percent in value.

Arslantürk also gave information about hazelnut exports from Black Sea province of Trabzon; he underlined that in the first month of 2025, 7 thousand 238 tonnes of hazelnut exports from Trabzon provided foreign currency inflow of 65 million 240 thousand dollars and compared to the same period of the previous year, there was a rise of 2 percent in quantity and 15 percent in value. Indicating that Trabzon ranks 1st in hazelnut exports, Arslantürk said, “31 percent of the hazelnut exports from our country in January 2025 was carried out by Trabzon province alone.”

Pointing out that in the first 5 months of the 2024/2025 export season, 44 thousand 20 tonnes of 394 million 70 thousand dollars worth of exports were made from Trabzon, Arslantürk added, “There was an increase of 42 percent in quantity and 77 percent in value compared to the same period of the previous season.”
