Kazakhstan achieved a historic success by harvesting 27.1 million tonnes of grain in 2023. Agriculture Minister Aidarbek Saparov announced that the new harvest met domestic demand and increased export potential. The country is taking steps to expand into new markets in addition to its traditional ones.
This year, farmers in Kazakhstan broke a record by harvesting 27.1 million tonnes of grain.

Kazakhstan’s Agriculture Minister Aidarbek Saparov assessed the country’s final harvest season at the government’s weekly meeting.
Saparov reported that 16 million hectares were planted in 2025 and 27.1 million tonnes of grain were harvested.
Saparov stated that the harvested grain harvest fully met domestic demand and also increased the country’s export potential.
Saparov pointed out that this year they began expanding into non-traditional markets for Kazakh grain, such as Belgium, Portugal, Poland, Norway, the UK, Vietnam, the United Arab Emirates and North Africa. He also noted that they have resumed grain exports to Iran, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia.

Saparov noted the increasing demand for Kazakh grain abroad, saying, “We have already exported approximately 2.2 million tonnes of the newly harvested crop.”
Saparov underlined that this year’s grain sales have broken a record and that production of high-demand agricultural products like pulses and oilseeds has also increased significantly.
Exporting an average of 8 to 10 million tonnes of grain each year, Kazakhstan is now the world’s 10th largest grain-producing country…
