Kadri Gündeş: We are working in line with the ‘Distant Countries Strategy’

Press release…

M. Kadri Gündeş, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Aegean Olive and Olive Oil Exporters Association (EZZİB), stated that within the scope of the Ministry of Trade’s ‘Distant Countries Strategy’, they have focused on high-potential strategic markets such as the USA, Canada, Japan, Brazil and Australia, conducting sectoral trade delegations and will continue these organizations without slowing down in the new period.

“We are not limiting our presence in global markets only to trade delegations; we are also participating in the world’s most prestigious trade fairs. We represent our country and the Turkish olive and olive oil sector in the most professional way at two of North America’s most important food fairs, one in New York and the other in California, at Foodex Japan in Japan and at the China International Import Fair,” he said.

Pointing out that they plan to support this international marketing network with their new UR-GE project to enhance the global competitiveness, he noted, “This project, which aims to strengthen the export capacity and corporate infrastructure of our companies, will be one of the important steps in our strategy to open up to new markets. These global organizations and projects are not just product exhibition areas for us; they are strategic grounds where we are already establishing the market infrastructure for the upcoming high-yield season. Our goal is to guarantee the future of our exporters on a global scale.”

Touching upon the success of Spain, Italy and Greece in promoting both tourism and olive oil, Gündeş added, “If Türkiye conducts promotional campaigns highlighting both sectors, both would gain strength.”
