Saudis showed great interest in Turkish food products. Organised by the Aegean Exporters’ Association (EIB), 18 companies from Türkiye participated in the ‘Saudi Arabia Food Trade Delegation’, while 44 importer companies from Saudi Arabia participated in bilateral business meetings to import Turkish food products.
Describing Türkiye as the world’s food warehouse, Hayrettin Uçak, Chair of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, stated that Saudi Arabia has always been one of the priority markets for Turkish food exporters.
“We demand the opening of the land road from Syria to Saudi Arabia”
Emphasising that the land road from Syria should be opened in order to ramp up Türkiye’s food exports to Saudi Arabia, Uçak said: “If the land road from Syria to Saudi Arabia is opened, the distance will be shortened, there will be no loss of time, our food products loaded from Türkiye will reach Saudi Arabia very quickly through Syria and our food exports to Saudi Arabia will reach much better levels.”
“We also raised this issue in our meeting with Emrullah İşler, the Ambassador of Türkiye to Saudi Arabia, and our Ambassador stated that this highway is among the priority agenda items and that they are following it. We would like to thank our Ambassador Emrullah İşler and our Trade Counsellors İlker Özdem and Murat Nesimoğlu for their warm interest in our delegation,” Uçak said.
“We will continue our trade delegations to increase Türkiye’s exports of food products,” Uçak added…
