Exports to the USA increase with added value of the Turkish Tastes brand…

The ‘Turkish Tastes-TURQUALITY Project on the Importance of Turkish Products in Healthy Nutrition’, supported by the Ministry of Trade with the participation of 6 food exporter associations under the roof of the Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB), which aims to make Turkish food products more preferred in the USA, the world’s largest food importer, continues successfully.

Aegean Exporters’ Associations Coordinator Chair Jak Eskinazi, along with EIB Food Chairs and US chefs Tom Macrina and John Bryne, who were invited to Türkiye for the shooting of the Turkish Tastes promotional film, held a press conference.

Jak Eskinazi said that Turkish food sector continues to work with great determination and determination in order to strengthen its position in the US market and ramp up its exports.

“Our TURQUALITY Project was launched in 2019 to build the Turkish Tastes community of high-level professionals who will play a catalytic role to establish strong, well-established organisations and commercial connections in the USA. For about 6 years, we have taken great steps towards commercialisation, the largest food distributors in the US have established collaborations with our Turkish companies. We have created a great network with the US HoReCa sector, producers, distributors, wholesalers, retailers and chain markets, restaurant associations, food investors, food enterprises, tourism and hospitality faculties, cookery schools,” Eskinazi said.

Pointing out that they are proud to share with the participants here today the results of their work in this direction, the bilateral business meetings held by the Turkish companies and what Turkish Tastes has achieved in the USA, Eskinazi added, “Between 2019 and 2023, the total food imports of the USA soared by 35 percent from 156 billion to 211 billion dollars, while Türkiye’s food exports to the USA soared by more than 100 percent from 708 million to 1 billion 712 million dollars in the same period. As Turkish food exporters, we have set an export target of 5 billion dollars to the USA by taking our success even further. We are happy that our chefs Tom Macrina and John Bryne, whom we invited to our country for the shooting of the Turkish Tastes promotional film, are among us today. We act in line with the vision of the ‘Far Countries Strategy’ of our Ministry of Trade in our Turkish Tastes brand, which is growing day by day, and in all our activities.”
