JAK ESKİNAZİ: TURKISH EXPORTERS SHOULD BE SUPPORTED MUCH MORE

Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EİB) achieved an export of 1 billion 442 million dollars in February with an increase of 23 percent. The amount of foreign currency that EİB brought to Turkey in February 2020 was 1 billion 168 million dollars. EİB realised the most successful February performance in its history.

In February, the exports of the Aegean Region soared by 23 percent from 2 billion 11 million dollars to 2 billion 468 million dollars.

Eskinazi: “We will reach our goals with financing support”

Reminding that Turkiye has an export target of 250 billion dollars in 2022 and the Aegean Exporters’ Associations have also an export target of 18 billion dollars, Aegean Exporters’ Associations Coordinator Chairperson Jak Eskinazi stated that in order to achieve this goal, the financing needs of exporters must be met uninterruptedly.

Underlining that the surge in import figures for the last two months is far above the increase in export figures, Eskinazi said, “The rise in raw material prices and the rise in logistics costs make our exporters hesitant to accept new orders. Turkish exporters should be supported to produce and export. Otherwise, the ratio of exports to imports will fall behind the targets. This will cause employment figures to fall behind what is desired.”
