Five thousand 797 tonnes of dried apricots were exported from Malatya in February…
Stating that 28 million 840 thousand dollars were obtained in return for these exports, Malatya Commodity Exchange Chairperson Ramazan Özcan drew attention to the increase in apricot exports despite the covid-19 and the Ukraine-Russia war.
The Malatya apricot, which has gained a significant momentum in exports, especially with the discovery of new markets and the rise in the exchange rate, is living its golden year.
Özcan said, “From last August, when the apricot season started, to date, in the 7-month period, 251 million 460 thousand dollars were obtained in return for the export of 57 thousand 528 tonnes of dried apricots.”
Making statements regarding February exports, Özcan added, “We exported 5 thousand 797 tonnes of dried apricots in February. In return, we bring an income of 28 million 840 thousand dollars to our country and Malatya.”
