Türkiye’s chilli pepper exports soared by 14 percent in 2024 compared to the previous year, reaching 13 million 940 thousand dollars. Most of the exports were carried out to Germany, the UK and the USA. Şanlıurfa Commodity Exchange Assembly Chairman İsa Kızıldemir stated that the hike in exports is pleasing for producers and exporters.

According to the information compiled from the data of the Southeastern Anatolia Exporters’ Associations (GAİB), 12 million 208 thousand dollars of chilli pepper exports were made from the country in 2023.
Last year, chilli peppers were exported from Türkiye to 101 countries, including Germany, the UK, the USA, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, France, Norway, Hungary, Senegal, Greece, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Malta, Russia and Italy.
The most chilli pepper exports were made to Germany with 2 million 362 thousand dollars. This country was followed by the UK with 1 million 769 thousand dollars and the USA with 1 million 672 thousand dollars.
“We expect exports to continue boosting”

Şanlıurfa Commodity Exchange Assembly Chairman İsa Kızıldemir stated that it is pleasing for both producers and exporters that the export of chilli pepper closed the year 2024 with an increase.
Highlighting that they expect the surge in export figures to continue in the new year, Kızıldemir said, “Those who taste the isot (the local pepper) produced in Anatolian lands cannot give up this flavour. Exports of chilli peppers to 101 countries in 2024 show us this.”
